Dewatering Sand Screw Wash Plant

Dewatering Screens can be used to dewater -4 mesh (5 mm) particles of sand, coal, iron ore, salt, etc. They can also be used to dewater fines in fines recovery circuits, typically +400 mesh (+38 µm), as well as to rinse and dewater jig discharge — nominally -2” (50 mm).

Previously, dewatering was perceived as a tedious and cumbersome process, but with the advent of the Rotary Press, this process has become SIMPLE, NEAT and ECONOMICAL. Whether it is the treatment of municipal or industrial sewage, the Fournier Rotary Press represents a substantial improvement in sludge dewatering.

Tuckahoe Sand and Gravel replaced their small, aging wash plant with two Eagle Iron Works Classifying Tanks and two double screw Fine Material Washers. Since installing the new Eagle wash plant, Tuckahoe Sand and Gravel has tripled their production.

All units are equipped with a spray bar for rinsing material prior to discharge. McLanahan recommends that a rinsing screen be used after a Log Washer to provide a final wash. As an option, McLanahan supplies cleanout grates at the bottom of the Log Washer to aid in cleaning the unit of material should maintenance or seasonal shutdowns occur.

Our decanter centrifuges separate fine solids from a suspension and optimally clarify the separated liquid. The Simp Drive ® concept and the adjustable impeller make it possible to adjust the residence time of the mixture in the decanter bowl during operation. If the conditions at the inlet change, the separation result and solids content in the discharge always remain constant.

This method of dewatering of sludge can be used in all places where adequate land is available and dried sludge can be used for soil conditioning. The method consists of applying the sludge in a 20 to 30 cm thick layer on specially prepared open beds of sand and gravel and allowed to dry.

After being transported to the processing plant, the wet sand and gravel raw feed is stockpiled,bucket elevators, or screw conveyors. The sand is freed from clay and organic impurities by log washers or rotary scrubbers.
